Practical answers about custom brushes, materials, specifications and ordering.
Industrial brush questions
Can you make a brush from a worn sample?
Yes. Send the sample, specifications or a drawing. We will consult, advise and manufacture to your requirements.
What materials and bristle do you offer?
We offer the following bristle: polypropylene, nylon, polyethylene, PET, carbide or tynex, stainless steel and brass. The correct choice depends on a number of factors such as working temperature, abrasion and memory.
We offer HDPE and nylon cores and sheets for manufacturing of the brush.
How do I choose the drilling pattern on the brush?
Straight, staggered and spiral patterns deliver different results. We will discuss all these options with you.
How does trim length affect performance?
The shorter the bristle trim, the firmer the brush; the longer the trim, the softer the sweep.
Do you deliver outside the Eastern Cape?
Yes. John Gray and Son delivers nationwide and internationally from Gqeberha.
What information should I send for a quote?
A concept or idea, drawings or sample. Dimensions, quantity and a description of the brush and its application are what is required. If you are not sure, we will consult, advise and steer you in the right direction.
Is there a minimum order?
Sometimes you just need one brush; sometimes you need 1000. Not a problem. Whether it is 1 or 1000, we can assist you.
Tell us what the brush has to do.
Send a drawing, a photograph or the worn brush itself. We will come back with a practical specification and a price.
